Administrative Fines
We are working on revising our nuisance code. Currently, the only way we can levy fines is through the Hearing Examiner process, which is both time-consuming and expensive.rnThis question is directed to Code Enforcement Officers who do NOT work for, or report to, law enforcement agencies, and whose jurisdictions can issue administrative fines directly to violators.rnI’m simply looking for jurisdictions to review their codesrn

May. 21, 2026I'm the Code Enforcement Officer for Mount Vernon. I am in the building department. I can write infractions, impose penalties, as well as refer for criminal charges. I am able to do so under Mount Vernon Municipal Code: https://www.codepublishing.com/WA/MountVernon/#!/MountVernon19/MountVernon19.html
